frjósa

(frýs; fraus, frusum; frosinn; also freri or frøri, frerinn or frørinn), v. to freeze, esp. impers., fraus um hann klæðin (acc.), the clothes froze on his body; fraus inni skip (acc.) Erlings, Erling’s ships were frozen in; veðr var kalt ok ~nda, cold and frosty; frýss haf allt optliga á vetrum, the whole sea often freezes in winter.
