œpa

(-ta, -t), v. to cry, shout (bónda múgurinn œpti ok kallaði, at þeir vildi hann til konungs taka); ~ upp, to shout out; ~ at e-m, ~ á e-n, to call, cry out to one; with acc., ~ heróp, sigróp, to raise a war-cry, a shout of victory.
