- 1) to spirt out, gush forth (þeysti E. upp ór sér spýju mikla);
- 2) to make rush on (þá þeysti hann líð sitt at þeim fram); ~ reiðina, to ride at a gallop; with dat. (~ út úvígum her ór borginni); absol., þeir þeystu þá sem harðast at þeim, they rushed violently on them;
- 3) refl., ~st, to dash, rush on (þá þeystist eptir allr múgrinn).
