- 1) reception, receiving hann fekk þar enga viðtóku, he was rejected; veita konungi viðtöku, to receive the thing;
- 2) pl., esp. hospitalily; vera góðr viðtakna, to be a good host; fá góðar viðtökur, to be well received;
- 3) resistance, = viðrtaka (var þar lítil ~).
